The New Taboo: Negativity

As someone who is very in touch with their spirituality and naturally optimistic, I always try to have a positive outlook on life. More and more people are making a conscious effort to live a more positive life but it's almost getting to the point, where it is becoming a negative thing to express your negativity.
Have you ever had a conversation with someone, where you are trying to explain how they have made you feel and they have shut you down with 'you're being negative'? Or tried to push your feelings of anger or sadness to the side because you don't want to be negative?
I'm not a fan of people shaming others for expressing their feelings or emotions and just because you are in a situation that is causing you to feel negative emotions, it doesn't mean you are a negative person.
It is important to validate your feelings and when you are in a situation where you begin to feel negative emotions or vibrations, really explore what that feels like and try to understand where this negativity really a comes from.
There is a massive difference between avoiding any confrontation with your own negative emotions and actually being a positive person. Granted, feeding in to negativity too much can make things worse but you can only truly let go of it by understanding where it is coming from and working out how your issues are bringing negativity into your life.
By really exploring negativity when it comes to your door, you can work through some of the issues
that you may have and in turn this will help you become a person who has a naturally positive disposition, so seeing the positive side to life will come so naturally to you, it won't even be a conscious decision.
I believe in the theory 'like attracts like', so for example you've probably met someone who complains about everything but they only do this because they find things to complain about, so more disappointments will come their way. I also believe that whenever a stressful situation brings it's way in to your life, see it as an opportunity to work on some of your issues that always bubble up to the surface at times like these.
There is nothing wrong with feeling sh**y or negative but use those feelings to workout what is the root cause of your unhappiness and find yourself in a more positive and pro-active state of mind.
Remember all of your feelings negative or positive are relevant, so don't bury them away because they will awalys come back again and again until you deal with them.
